Assistant Estimator


Job Summary


We are looking for an individual willing to learn the estimating portion of projects to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven.

Job Description

  • Assist estimator in procuring profitable cost estimates, assist in the RFP process and bid packages.

  • Maintain directory of suppliers and update unit cost software as needed

  • Assist in the development of scope of work and written proposals working with the sales and design team.

  • Assist with obtaining subcontractor and vendor pricing and services

  • Assist with project schedules

  • This list in not all inclusive (Other duties as required)


  • Minimum of 3 years construction experience.

  • Normal business hours (Hours may vary due to project needs). May have off hours or weekends as needed- flexibility required

  • Pass a background and motor vehicle check (provided at no cost to the candidate)

  • Pass a drug test (provided at no cost to the candidate

  • Self-motivated and must have good communication skills

  • Strong analytical and math skills

  • Personal commitment to team environment, client satisfaction and quality

  • Inter-personal and communication skills (both verbal and written. Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors and trade personnel.

  • Punctual with reliable transportation  and a valid driver’s license

  • Basic familiarity of construction operations including project activities, engineering disciplines, construction technologies.

  • High attention to detail- listening skills

  • Computer  skills- Excel, Word , Google,  (Bluebeam and Microsoft Project a plus)

  • Timberline Software experience or equivalency along with takeoff software knowledge (a plus)

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to maintain professionalism when faced with aggressive deadlines
