This building is an 8 story, 102,000 sqft mixed use building that also includes an attached 510 space municipal parking garage, two public plazas, and several streetscape improvements, located in Concord, New Hampshire.
This was a joint venture project between Cobb Hill Construction & Pro Con Inc. A Joint Venture LLC was created between the two companies specifically for this project. The project was run using the construction management (CM) process, utilizing project managers and on-site superintendents.
One of the more innovative aspects of the project was an OSHA Partnership. This partnership was quite unique, as it was the first in New Hampshire. This enabled better communication and understanding among all the workers. Health and safety is an important entity to the Cobb Hill team, and the partnership with OSHA better enabled our staff for this and future projects. Extensive employee training was also provided to assist in recognizing and correcting any workplace hazards.
The Capital Commons project was recognized at Main Street Concord's annual meeting. The City of Concord was presented with an Award of Excellence for the best public project, the Capital Commons Garage, and the project developer, Michael Simchik was presented an award for Best New Construction.
