New Office Building

Cobb Hill was contracted to build a new ground-up dental office for Dr. JD Howard in Dover NH. The new nearly 5500 sf one story building at 375 Sixth Street in Dover was designed by Warren Street Architects.

The modern design includes a total of nine operatories, four of which are hygiene suites. The design and construction leverages a new energy-saving construction technique. Instead of the current practice of framing the building with a 2x6 wall, the walls in this structure will framed with 2x4 framing then 2” rigid foam sheeting will be applied to the outside before the sheathing is applied. This gives the wall more than adequate strength but adds a critical thermal break that conventional framing doesn’t offer. This method not only increases the R-Value over an insulated 2x6 wall, the thermal break increases the overall value.

The new facility has been designed for a total of nine operatories, four which will be for hygiene.  Upscale patient areas and comfortable staff areas.

An old barn on the site required asbestos abatement prior to demolition. Extensive site work for water erosion and underground services has been completed. Warren Street Architects has also developed an attractive landscaping plan.
